Forest Food Showcase – 7th October 2012

The Forest Showcase, Food & Drink Festival is to be held on Sunday 7th October 2012, at The Speech House Hotel & Field. The event is being organised by Amanda Smith from Switched On (Forest) community Interest company, along with Rachel Smith and in conjunction with Peter & Gill Hands, owners of the Speech House Hotel.

The Forest Showcase will bring together over 50 different food and drink producers from the Forest of Dean and surrounding area, arts & crafts, free talks and cookery demonstrations, children’s workshops, a sustainable living area and many other attractions making this year’s event the biggest in the history of the event.

The star attraction will be the opening of the event by the very popular BBC TV & Radio Food programmes presenter “Gregg Wallace” who has hosted programmes such as Saturday Morning Kitchen, Turn Back Time, BBC Radio 4’s Food programme and of course Master Chef.

Gregg will be appearing thanks to Peter & Gill Hands working closely with Be- Spoke Hotels, who they use as a marketing organisation to promote the Speech House Hotel and surrounding area.

Peter Hands said “We are delighted to have been able to secure the appearance of Gregg, on behalf of The Forest Showcase. Gregg is passionate about local produce being used where ever possible. Our thanks go to Be-Spoke for their assistance in inviting Gregg down to the Royal Forest Food and Drink Event, we are sure everyone will turn out to give him a warm Forest welcome.
